Thermographic Inspection is a non invasive diagnostic technique which can be used as an effective method of identifying underlying potential problems including loose or corroded connections, load imbalances , overloads and deterioration of equipment such as MCB’s and Fuses which would not normally be identified by  more convention inspection methods.

However, such thermal surveying should not be seen as a substitute for periodic inspection and testing, but rather as an additional tool that can be used by the inspector.

Thermographic  surveys can be a highly effective means of targeting preventative maintenance to where it is most required. Defects identified may be factored into the planned maintenance programme for the installation, or where necessary may justify the remedial works being performed without delay.
